About the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Green Bburago 1:18

TL;DR: Bburago's 1:18 diecast Jaguar E-Type Series 1 wears green over the fixed-head coupe body from 1961. Entry-tier construction, the long-bonnet silhouette carried faithfully, positions this as an affordable start to a British classic sports car theme.

The Series 1 coupe was the E-Type body style that first appeared at Geneva in 1961, and Bburago's green example keeps that original fixed-head shape as the centrepiece.

Bburago's Diecast Take on the Fixed-Head Coupe

The coupe roofline is a genuinely different engineering challenge from the open-top Cabriolet, since the fastback tail and covered rear window have to hold their shape through the tooling process without warping the glasshouse proportions, and Bburago's casting manages that cleanly. The green paint is applied evenly, if without the deep factory-matched tone a premium piece would carry, and the doors open on simple hinges typical of entry-tier diecast. Panel gaps run a touch wider than mid-tier alternatives, most visible along the long bonnet line where any waviness would otherwise be obvious. The cabin is kept simple, a moulded dashboard rather than a detailed recreation, in keeping with the price point. What comes through clearly regardless is the E-Type's low, long stance, which is really the whole point of owning this shape in miniature.

The Series 1's Place at the Start of the E-Type Story

This fixed-head coupe was the body style Jaguar showed first, before the open-top Cabriolet joined the range, and its covered headlamps and slim bumpers mark it out from the later Series 2 and 3 cars that followed through the 1960s and into the 1970s. Collectors of the E-Type generally treat the Series 1 as the purest expression of the original design brief, unmodified by the running changes later regulations forced onto the range.

Building a British Classic Shelf Around This Coupe

Paired with the open-top Cabriolet in a different colour, this coupe demonstrates both E-Type body styles side by side, a natural starting point for a Jaguar-focused display.
