About the Lamborghini Jalpa Silver Minichamps 1:43

TL;DR: Minichamps' 1:43 diecast Lamborghini Jalpa reproduces the 1981 wedge-shaped Italian sports car in silver over a sealed zinc alloy body. This example is used, its box showing traces of storage. A compact classic-sports piece for an Italian supercar shelf.

The Jalpa kept Lamborghini's smaller sports car line alive through a genuinely uncertain decade for the marque, and this silver diecast captures its Bertone-designed shape at a manageable scale.

Casting an Italian Wedge Profile

The Jalpa's low, angular silhouette suits a sealed one-piece body, holding the sharp wedge nose and flying buttress rear pillars as a single continuous form rather than an assembly of hinged parts. Silver paint under a display lamp shows the depth and evenness of the finish, and the louvred rear engine cover, one of the Jalpa's most recognisable details, is cast with real relief rather than a flat printed texture. The alloy wheels carry a period-correct five-spoke pattern, and the pop-up headlamp housings, a signature 1980s supercar feature, are moulded in as fixed elements consistent with the sealed body construction.

The Model That Kept Lamborghini Afloat

Through the early 1980s Lamborghini faced serious financial pressure, and the Jalpa, a development of the earlier Silhouette, became the accessible V8 model that helped sustain the company alongside its larger V12 flagships. Its Bertone styling gave it genuine visual presence despite sitting below the Countach in the range, and it remains one of the more affordable routes into Lamborghini ownership for enthusiasts today, a status this diecast reflects in its own accessible pricing.

This is a used piece, and its box shows the traces of storage typical of a private collection; the casting itself is unaffected. Set alongside a Countach or other period Lamborghinis, the Jalpa's smaller footprint and understated colour make it a useful contrast piece on a mixed Italian supercar shelf.
