About the Ford Cortina Lotus White & Green Stripe MCG 1:18

TL;DR: MCG's 1:18 diecast Ford Cortina Lotus in white with green stripe reproduces the most recognisable factory livery of Ford's 1960s homologation saloon. It suits a vintage British Ford collection alongside its red and gold sibling and the rally-liveried versions.

White with a green side stripe is the colour scheme most people picture when they hear "Cortina Lotus," and MCG's diecast takes that familiar look and renders it cleanly.

Reproducing a Recognisable Livery

The green stripe sits crisply against the white body, following the Cortina's flat flanks without wandering off-line, which is exactly where a cheaper diecast tends to show weakness. MCG's saloon shape captures the Cortina's upright, slightly boxy 1960s profile accurately, and the diecast body's weight feels appropriate for the scale when lifted from the packaging. Chrome trim around the windows and bumpers stays bright without looking overdone, and the Lotus badging on the boot and flanks is legible rather than blurred, a small but important detail on a subject whose whole identity rests on that badge.

A Cornerstone Piece for a Cortina Theme

Because this is the most iconic Cortina Lotus colour scheme, it works well as the anchor piece in a themed Cortina Lotus collection, with the rally and endurance versions filling out the competition side of the story and the red and gold car showing the alternative road-going option. At 1:18 the saloon's compact footprint means several Cortinas can share a shelf without crowding, letting a collector display the full range of liveries side by side. This is not a rare or unusual variant, but it is the definitive one, and for many buyers building a Ford or 1960s British saloon collection, starting here before branching into the rarer race liveries makes practical sense.
