The folding fabric roof stows behind the seats, and Minichamps molds it closed and fixed rather than as a working mechanism, which is the honest trade-off on a diecast roadster at this tier: doors open, the roof does not. The rear deck bulges slightly to cover the stowed roof, a detail the model carries through in the body's rear three-quarter profile, and the R197's slightly longer tail compared with the coupe is reproduced in the casting's proportions.
