Manfred Winkelhock drove the Nigrin-sponsored #55 car through the 1981 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft season, one of the era's most competitive domestic championships, where Zakspeed's Capris regularly ran at the front against Porsche's own turbocharged efforts. The result looked more like a rally-inspired special than a showroom Capri, which is exactly the appeal of Group 5 as a collecting theme.
