About the Red Bull Racing RB18 #1 M. Verstappen Winner Miami GP 2022 Minichamps 1:18

TL;DR: Minichamps' 1:18 diecast Red Bull RB18 reproduces Max Verstappen's number 1 car from his win at the inaugural 2022 Miami Grand Prix. Sealed livery construction carries the full sponsor scheme without a break at the panel lines. A strong anchor for a 2022 championship-season Formula 1 display.

Miami's first Grand Prix in 2022 went to Max Verstappen, in a car built for a completely new set of technical regulations. Minichamps' 1:18 diecast reproduces that RB18 exactly as it crossed the line that weekend, number 1 already on the nose.

Livery Detail and Print Registration

The RB18's livery carries a dense arrangement of sponsor branding across the sidepods, engine cover and rear wing, and getting that registration correct matters more on a Formula 1 subject than on almost any other type of model. Minichamps' printing sits flat and sharp at the panel joins, with no bleed between the dark blue base and the red and yellow accents that break it up. The number 1 on the nose, worn for the first time this season as reigning champion, is picked out cleanly against the surrounding livery. Underneath, the diecast body reproduces the RB18's low, wide aerodynamic surfaces, with the barge boards and floor detailing that defined the car's new ground-effect design visible along the sills.

The Car Behind Verstappen's 2022 Title Run

New Ground-Effect Rules, New Power Unit Branding

The RB18 was built under Formula 1's biggest regulation overhaul in a generation, with new ground-effect aerodynamics replacing the previous era's bargeboard-heavy designs, and Red Bull's technical team adapted to the change quickly enough to make the car the class of the field. It also marked the first season the team's power unit carried Red Bull Powertrains branding, developed in partnership with Honda rather than under Honda's own name as before. Miami's inaugural race was one of several wins that season on the way to Verstappen's second consecutive drivers' title, and the RB18 is remembered as one of the most dominant cars of its regulation era.

Building a Championship-Season Formula 1 Shelf

Sealed Livery Accuracy vs Opening-Feature Diecast

Formula 1 diecast at 1:18 typically favours sealed bodywork over opening panels, since a race car's aerodynamic surfaces are continuous and a hinge line would break the livery exactly where it matters most. That trade-off suits collectors differently than a road car does: there is no cabin or engine bay to reveal, so the value sits entirely in stance, wing detail and print accuracy. At around 48cm long including the front and rear wings, an RB18 needs a dedicated shelf run rather than a cramped corner, and it pairs naturally with other cars from the same 2022 season to build out a full grid or a single team's title-winning year.
