About the Porsche 356B 2000 GS Carrera 2 Grey GT Spirit 1:18

TL;DR: GT Spirit's 1:18 resin Porsche 356B 2000 GS Carrera 2 reproduces the 1960 high-performance variant in grey, cast as a fixed one-piece body. This is a used model, and the box shows traces of storage while the model itself is unaffected. A pre-911 Porsche subject with genuine performance pedigree.

Before the 911 arrived, the 356 carried Porsche's entire road-car reputation, and the Carrera 2 variant sat at the top of that range with a genuinely race-derived four-cam engine most 356s never offered.

Resin Casting and the Fixed Body of the 356B Carrera 2

The 356's rounded, bulbous proportions are precisely the kind of smooth compound-curve bodywork resin reproduces with genuine fidelity, holding the shape's continuous surfacing more cleanly than a stamped diecast panel often manages on such rounded forms. As a fixed one-piece casting, the model presents its vintage character entirely through its exterior: the grey paint sits with real depth across those curved flanks, and the shutlines around the doors and rear-hinged bonnet stay tight and consistent. GT Spirit's badge and trim detailing on this early Porsche stays sharp under close inspection, important on a subject where period-correct chrome trim carries much of the visual identity. This is a used example, and the box shows traces of storage, ordinary wear that has no bearing on the casting inside.

The Carrera 2's Place in 356 History

The Carrera 2 designation marked the 356's most serious performance variant, fitting a race-bred four-cam engine into the standard road body, a rare and expensive option that made this version far more capable than an ordinary 356.

Where the 356B Fits a Pre-911 Porsche Shelf

Displayed ahead of any 911, the 356B establishes where Porsche's road-car story genuinely began. Its sealed body needs only occasional dusting to keep the rounded panels presentation-ready.
