About the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni Verde Ithaca AUTOart 1:18

TL;DR: AUTOart's 1:18 diecast Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni wears Verde Ithaca with opening doors, bonnet and boot on a zinc alloy body. This is a used example; the box shows traces of storage, the model itself intact. A rear-drive tribute edition named after Lamborghini's long-serving test driver.

Named for Valentino Balboni, Lamborghini's veteran test driver, the LP550-2 stripped the Gallardo's usual all-wheel-drive system down to rear-wheel drive alone, and AUTOart's diecast presents that purist variant in the striking Verde Ithaca green Balboni himself favoured.

AUTOart's Diecast Detail on the Balboni Edition

The zinc alloy body carries genuine weight, and AUTOart's tooling picks up the Gallardo's sharp creases and Balboni-specific badging with the precision the brand is known for on this subject. Doors, bonnet and boot all open, exposing the naturally aspirated V10 and the two-tone cabin trim unique to this special edition. Verde Ithaca is a genuinely distinctive shade, standing apart from the more common yellows and oranges typical of Lamborghini liveries, and it shows the body's creased surfacing clearly under direct light. Panel gaps run tight for the construction tier. As a used model, expect light handling wear, and the box shows traces of storage; the casting itself remains sound.

A Purist's Gallardo for a Focused Collection

The Balboni edition holds particular appeal for collectors who value driving purity over headline performance figures, since removing all-wheel drive was a deliberate step back from the Gallardo's usual formula rather than an upgrade. Displayed alongside a standard all-wheel-drive Gallardo, it tells a story about different engineering philosophies within the same model family. AUTOart's build quality and the distinctive Verde Ithaca finish make this a standout piece for a Lamborghini collection built around special and limited editions rather than standard production variants.
