The Sport Evolution was BMW's final, most extreme homologation version of the E30 M3, built purely to keep the racing programme competitive.

AUTOart's Diecast Detail on the Sport Evolution

Zinc alloy construction gives this M3 genuine weight, and doors, bonnet and boot all open, with the bonnet revealing the high-revving four-cylinder engine that made the Sport Evolution the most track-focused E30 M3 built. The black paint carries a deep, glossy finish, and the car's boxy, boxed-out wheel arches and larger rear spoiler, both homologation-driven changes over the standard M3, are rendered with the crisp edges diecast tooling manages well on the E30's flat panels. The custom wheels fitted to this example add a distinctive personal touch not found on a stock example.

The Sport Evolution's Place in BMW's Racing Story

BMW built just enough Sport Evolution examples to satisfy Group A homologation rules, making the real car a genuinely rare and significant variant within the E30 M3 lineage. This diecast captures that final, most track-focused specification, and it works as an anchor piece for any BMW M or Group A touring car collection, sitting naturally alongside standard E30 M3s and the DTM race cars the road version enabled.
