A Track-Only Departure from the Road Huayra

Where the road-going Huayra relies on turbocharging for its response, the R was built around a naturally aspirated V12 developed with input from Mercedes-AMG's motorsport division, tuned for revs rather than low-down torque and stripped of the emissions equipment a road car needs. That single change reshapes everything else about the car: a lighter structure, a bare-bones cabin with none of the road car's leather trim, and bodywork reworked almost entirely around airflow rather than kerbside drama. Vents appear where the road Huayra keeps smooth panels, and the rear wing sits taller and more purposeful than anything Pagani puts on a car meant for public roads. The result looks related to the standard Huayra without ever being mistaken for one.

LCD's Diecast Treatment in Green

Diecast construction suits this kind of aggressive surfacing well, giving the vents, splitters and wing mounts a solid, weighted presence that a lightweight resin shell would not convey in the hand.
