About the Lloyd Alexander TS Yellow Revell 1:18

TL;DR: This Revell 1:18 diecast reproduces the Lloyd Alexander TS in yellow, the small German family saloon in its ordinary road-going form rather than competition livery. It suits a post-war microcar or German heritage shelf built around everyday transport rather than racing.

Most Lloyd Alexanders spent their lives doing exactly what they were built for, moving families around post-war Germany affordably, without ever seeing a start line.

An Honest Family Car From the Borgward Group

Built by Lloyd as part of the wider Borgward group, the Alexander TS offered practical, economical transport during a period when many German families were rebuilding their lives and their means, a modest but genuine step up from the smallest microcars of the era. Yellow paint on this diecast gives the boxy little saloon a cheerful presence that suits its everyday character well, and Revell's build treats the upright, simple bodywork with clean panel consistency, appropriate to a straightforward family car rather than anything performance-oriented. The saloon's compact footprint also means it shares shelf space easily alongside other small post-war European cars.

A Quiet Companion to the Race-Liveried Version

Displayed beside a competition-liveried Alexander TS, this yellow road car shows the same subject in its far more common, everyday context, a useful contrast for collectors interested in how ordinary German family cars occasionally found their way onto historic racing grids. On its own, it remains a genuinely pleasant, honest post-war microcar.
