Frequently asked questions

Shipping, returns, sourcing and pre-orders: everything you need to know before your first order.

How are your models packed and shipped?

Every model is checked by hand before it leaves our warehouse and packed in a five-layer custom carton built specifically for scale model cars. Packing foam inside the outer carton fills the void around the manufacturer's box so the model cannot move in transit. We ship promptly after payment and offer insured express delivery worldwide with real-time tracking. You will receive a tracking email the moment your parcel leaves us. Every parcel is insured for its full value — anything damaged in transit is replaced free of charge.

What is your returns and warranty policy?

You have 14 days to change your mind under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). Send the model back in its original packaging unused, and we will refund you in full — the refund is processed within 14 days of the return reaching us, as the directive requires. If anything arrived damaged in transit, send us photos as soon as you spot it and we will replace it free of charge, no questions asked.

How do pre-orders work?

Pre-ordering means you reserve a piece from a strict manufacturer allocation — typically 99 to 1,500 pieces for limited editions — before it goes on general release. These runs routinely sell out before reaching our warehouse, and once closed they are rarely re-tooled. You pay the full price upfront to secure your slot, and we will despatch your model within 48 hours of it landing in Częstochowa. You can cancel any time before the manufacturer confirms allocation.

Where do your models come from?

Our new stock comes direct from authorised European distributors in the manufacturer's original packaging — Norev (France, 1946), Minichamps (Germany, 1990), GT Spirit (France, 2012), AUTOart (Hong Kong, 1998), OttOmobile, IXO and Kyosho among others. Pre-owned models come from private collections and estate purchases that we acquire ourselves, then inspect and grade piece by piece. There are no third-party resellers and no aftermarket reproductions in our catalogue — every listing can be verified against the manufacturer's own production record.

What is a diecast model car?

A diecast model car is a scaled replica cast from zinc-aluminium alloy under high pressure — heavier, more detailed and more durable than plastic toys. Typical 1:18 models weigh 700–800g and feature opening doors, detailed engine bays and accurate paint finishes. They are display pieces for adult collectors, not children's toys. Read the complete diecast collector guide →

What is the difference between diecast and resin models?

Diecast is zinc-aluminium alloy cast under high pressure — heavy (700–800g at 1:18), tough, with opening doors and bonnet. Resin is polyurethane cast in silicone moulds — lighter, with sharper body lines, made in smaller runs (often 99 to 999 pieces). Diecast appeals to collectors who prize engineering depth and the long haul; resin appeals to those who prize surface finish and edition rarity. AUTOart composites combine both. Read the full comparison guide →

What is the difference between 1:18 and 1:43 scale model cars?

1:18 scale is roughly 24–26 cm long — big enough to show engine bays, interior stitching and working steering. It is the showcase scale most collectors centre their collection on, with pricing that varies depending on manufacturer and edition size — from accessible mid-range diecast through to premium hand-finished resin. 1:43 scale is around 10 cm — display-shelf size, perfect for building broad themed collections (a full F1 grid, a complete BTCC season) at a more accessible per-piece tier. Most serious collectors run both scales in parallel.

Do scale model cars hold their value?

Limited-edition resin runs (typically 99–1,500 pieces) from manufacturers like GT Spirit, OttOmobile and BBR can appreciate on the secondary market once sold out — though outcomes vary by model, manufacturer reputation and demand, and resale value is never guaranteed. Mass-produced diecast (Maisto, Bburago at 1:18) generally holds its retail price. Three factors influence whether a model appreciates: production run size (under 1,000 = strongest), discontinuation status, and original packaging condition.

Ferrari model cars embody the passion and engineering precision that made the Prancing Horse the most recognised emblem in automotive history. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1947 in Maranello, Italy, Ferrari built its legend on the racetrack before conquering the road — and every Ferrari diecast model carries that motorsport DNA in miniature. Our Ferrari scale model collection spans six decades of iconic design, from the F40 — the last car personally approved by Enzo — to the hybrid 296 GTB. The 250 GTO, valued at over $40 million at auction, is equally prized in 1:18 and 1:43 scale reproductions. Modern UK collector favourites include the LaFerrari, SF90 Stradale, 488 Pista and F12 TDF. From Miura to Revuelto in 1:18 and 1:43 scale

Lamborghini model cars translate the most dramatic design language in automotive history into collectible scale form — from the wedge-shaped Countach to the angular Aventador SVJ, every silhouette is instantly recognisable. Founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the Raging Bull marque has produced some of the most sought-after supercars ever made, and their scale reproductions carry that same theatrical presence. Our Lamborghini diecast collection spans 1:18 and 1:43 scales, featuring models from AUTOart (composite with full opening parts), GT Spirit (hand-finished resin), Bburago (accessible diecast), Maisto and Kyosho. Each manufacturer brings a different approach — AUTOart delivers reference-grade Lamborghini model cars with functioning suspension and carbon-fibre detail; GT Spirit captures modern V12 flagships in sealed resin with flawless paint. UK collectors consistently seek out the Miura P400 SV (the model that defined the supercar genre), Countach LP400 (the 1970s icon with scissor doors), Diablo GT, Aventador SVJ, Huracan Performante, Urus and the hybrid-era Sian FKP 37. What sets Lamborghini scale models apart from other supercar brands? Pure visual drama. Explore our Lamborghini collection spanning six decades of Italian supercar heritage.

Volkswagen

Beetle, Bus, Golf GTI: collector favourites

Volkswagen diecast models honour the brand that put the world on wheels and became a cultural icon far beyond the road. Founded in 1937, VW created the Beetle, the most produced car in history, and the T1 Bus, a symbol of freedom that transcended automotive culture entirely. Every Volkswagen model car in our catalogue carries that heritage in collector-grade detail. The VW model range spans from air-cooled classics to modern performance — the Beetle remains the single most collected Volkswagen in diecast, from split-window 1949 originals to the final Mexican production run. The T1 Samba Bus and T2 command premium prices in 1:18 scale, with detailed fabric sunroofs and period-correct two-tone paint. The Golf GTI lineage from the Mk1 that invented the hot hatch to the Mk8 Clubsport drives strong UK collector demand, particularly the Golf 2 GTI 16V and Rallye Golf G60. Volkswagen scale models come from manufacturers who understand German heritage: Schuco delivers precision German-made VW classics; Norev produces detailed 1:18 diecast replicas with opening parts; Solido covers the affordable range; OttOmobile specialises in limited resin editions of performance variants like the Corrado VR6 and Scirocco. What makes VW models resonate with UK collectors? Emotional connection — these are not just automobiles but chapters of personal history reproduced in 1:18 and 1:43. Explore our Volkswagen collection from the iconic Beetle to the latest GTI generation.

AUTOart

Fully opening composite and diecast, Japan-engineered

AUTOart diecast models set the standard for museum-quality craftsmanship in 1:18 scale collecting. Founded in 1998, AUTOart pioneered the composite construction method — combining die-cast metal with engineered plastics — to achieve levels of detail that traditional manufacturing cannot match. Every AUTOart 1:18 model features fully functional opening parts, articulated suspension, accurate undercarriage detail and carbon-fibre reproductions that rival factory press cars. The brand holds exclusive licensing with Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, Nissan and Koenigsegg, producing definitive replicas that become reference pieces for automotive journalists and museum curators. Sought-after AUTOart model cars include the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, McLaren 720S and the Koenigsegg Agera RS — each finished to exacting factory colour specifications. AUTOart also produces select 1:43 and 1:12 scale models for collectors seeking different display options. What distinguishes AUTOart from other manufacturers? Uncompromising material quality. Real metal hinges, woven carbon-fibre textures, perforated leather seat reproductions and paint depth that reveals multiple layers under close inspection. AUTOart models command premium pricing for good reason — they represent the highest tier of production scale model craftsmanship. Browse our curated AUTOart collection and experience diecast perfection.

Solido

Entry-level diecast with collector-grade detail

Solido diecast models deliver nine decades of French model-making heritage at a price point that defies expectations. Founded in 1932 and relaunched under the Simba Dickie Group, Solido is one of the oldest scale model manufacturers in existence — combining historic pedigree with modern tooling precision. The Solido model car range focuses on classic and modern performance cars in 1:18 and 1:43 scale: BMW E36 M3, Shelby GT500, Ford Mustang GT, VW Beetle, Porsche 911 Carrera, Audi S8 and Alpina B10 Touring. Each 1:18 Solido diecast model features a die-cast metal body, opening doors and bonnets, detailed interiors and rubber tyres. What sets Solido apart from other diecast producers? The price-to-quality ratio is unmatched — Solido delivers construction and detail comparable to premium brands at a fraction of the cost, making it the smart choice for UK collectors building large displays or expanding without stretching their budget. Solido also excels in European market classics that others overlook — French cars like the Peugeot 205 GTI, German touring cars and American muscle — filling gaps rather than duplicating what every other producer covers. Discover our Solido selection across 1:18 and 1:43 scale.

IXO

WRC, BTCC and Le Mans 1:43 from Portugal

IXO models give collectors access to the most comprehensive 1:43 scale catalogue in the world — over 5,000 references covering rally, endurance racing, touring cars and road-going vehicles. Founded in the late 1990s in Portugal, IXO has built an unmatched reputation for accurate diecast reproductions at accessible price points, making serious collecting possible without a premium budget. The IXO family includes dedicated sub-brands: Premium X for road cars, CMR for classic motorsport, and White Box for entry-level collecting. Each IXO diecast model features tampo-printed liveries, period-correct sponsor decals and proportionally accurate bodywork that holds up under close inspection. Where IXO truly excels is motorsport heritage — their rally collection includes definitive reproductions of the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Subaru Impreza WRC, Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Toyota Celica GT-Four and Citroën Xsara WRC, alongside Le Mans entries like the Porsche 956/962, Audi R8 LMP and Toyota TS050 Hybrid. IXO also produces select 1:18 scale models for collectors who want larger-format motorsport replicas. What makes IXO the go-to manufacturer for motorsport collectors? Catalogue depth no competitor matches — if a car raced in WRC, Le Mans, BTCC or DTM, IXO has likely produced it. With accessible pricing per 1:43 model, building a comprehensive motorsport collection is well within reach. Discover our IXO selection spanning decades of racing history.

MCG

Affordable 1:18 classics from the 1960s to 1990s

MCG diecast models fill the gap that established manufacturers ignore — the everyday classics that defined European streets from the 1960s through to the 1990s. MCG, short for Model Car Group, is a German-based manufacturer specialising in affordable 1:18 and 1:43 scale diecast replicas of cars that shaped daily life across the continent but rarely receive the collector-model treatment. The MCG catalogue reads like a European parking lot time capsule — where other producers chase supercars and race winners, MCG reproduces the Mercedes W123 saloon your family drove on holiday, the Ford Granada that sat in every other driveway, and the Opel Kadett C your neighbour polished on Sundays. Their range includes the Volvo 240, Citroën CX, Peugeot 604, Saab 900 and Fiat 131. MCG also covers American classics like the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, Lincoln Continental and Dodge Monaco alongside Eastern European models — the Škoda 120, Wartburg 353 and Lada 2106. This breadth of catalogue is unmatched at budget-friendly pricing for a 1:18 diecast model. What sets MCG models apart for collectors? They produce cars that simply do not exist from any other manufacturer at this scale. MCG models are sealed — no opening parts — which allows sharp body lines and consistent pricing. New releases arrive monthly, steadily expanding into categories mainstream producers overlook. For collectors of European automotive history beyond the sports-car spotlight, discover our MCG selection across 1:18 and 1:43 scale.
